Terms of Service

Last updated April 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using the Mitria platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Mitria platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Mitria on behalf of a campaign or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. Description of Service

Mitria provides a campaign operations platform that includes communication triage, voter intelligence, sentiment analysis, messaging tools, volunteer management, and related features. The platform is designed to help political campaigns manage inbound and outbound communications, analyze voter data, and coordinate campaign activities.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information when creating your account and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the platform complies with all applicable campaign finance laws, election laws, and regulations in your jurisdiction.

4. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you upload to or create through the Mitria platform, including voter files, donor records, volunteer lists, and communication content. You grant Mitria a limited license to process this data solely to provide the platform services. We do not claim ownership over your campaign data and will not use it for purposes outside of delivering the service to you.

5. Voter Data Compliance

You represent and warrant that any voter registration data or voter file data you upload to Mitria was lawfully obtained from the applicable source agency and that your use of such data through the platform is within the approved purposes for which the data was originally obtained. You agree to use voter data only for campaign, election, and voter outreach purposes as permitted by applicable law. You will not use the platform to sell, lease, loan, or otherwise transfer voter registration information for purposes unrelated to campaign operations. Mitria processes voter data in accordance with applicable state regulations, including the California Secretary of State's regulations on access to voter registration information. Campaign data is logically segregated on our platform, and access is restricted to authenticated users who are explicitly associated with the campaign.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Mitria only for lawful campaign activities. You will not use the platform to send unsolicited commercial messages in violation of applicable law, store or transmit content that is defamatory, threatening, or violates the rights of others, attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems, or circumvent any rate limits, compliance safeguards, or security measures built into the platform.

7. Communication Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring that all communications sent through the platform comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CAN-SPAM Act, and any applicable state or local regulations. Mitria provides compliance guardrails — including opt-out detection, "Paid for by" disclaimer enforcement, and message approval workflows — but these tools do not constitute legal advice and do not replace your obligation to comply with the law.

8. Data Processing

Mitria acts as a data processor on behalf of the campaign (the data controller). We process personal data only in accordance with your instructions and solely for the purpose of providing the platform services. We do not independently determine the purposes or means of processing your campaign data. Upon request, Mitria will enter into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) that formalizes our obligations regarding data handling, breach notification procedures, sub-processor management, and data deletion. Contact privacy@mitria.com to request a DPA.

9. Security Measures

Mitria implements industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), least-privilege access controls for production systems, automatic session timeout after no more than 15 minutes of inactivity, audit logging of data access including who accessed data, when, for which campaign, and for what action, and infrastructure hosted on managed cloud services. For uploading sensitive data such as voter files, we support secure transfer methods including encrypted file transfer services and direct upload through the platform over TLS-encrypted connections.

10. Availability and Support

We strive to maintain high availability of the platform but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.

11. Limitation of Liability

Mitria is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mitria Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of the platform.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, you will have 90 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in activity that harms other users or the integrity of the platform.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the platform. Continued use of Mitria after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
